Why weight disputes happen

Courier dimensional-weight machines drift, packets get re-weighed at hubs, and rate-cards apply different rounding rules. Without a structured dispute workflow, merchants often pay more than what was actually shipped — and have no audit trail to challenge it.

How the ShipyBox workflow works

Every billed weight is matched against your manifested weight. When a discrepancy is detected, ShipyBox creates a reconciliation record so you can review it, decide whether to raise a dispute, upload supporting evidence and follow it through to resolution. The admin team coordinates the courier-side communication on your behalf.

  • 1. Discrepancy detection
Per-AWB delta surfaced as a reconciliation record.
  • 2. Merchant review
You decide whether to accept the charge or raise a dispute.
  • 3. Evidence upload
Attach images, weight slips or PDFs to support the dispute.
  • 4. Courier evidence management
Admin attaches courier-side evidence (where shared) for transparent review.
  • 5. Admin remarks
Admin communicates findings; every message stays in the record.
  • 6. Audit trail
Every action — raise, upload, remark, status change — is timestamped and visible.
  • 7. Resolution recorded
Outcome (credit, charge sustained, partial) is recorded against the AWB and visible in your ledger.
